unique self observation in the digital age
PAINTER
The Painter is nodding his head, can’t remain still. With looking like a bobble head doll I symbolize the artist trying to be understanding when hearing critiques and advice in the art world instead of explaining his own opinion or his art for others to understand. Artists sometimes are pressured to stay quiet and patient until they find their own audience.
Most people do not look or listen with the intent to understand, they listen with the intent to reply
YES-WOMAN
If you see someone as a yes-woman, you describe her as she always seems to agree with people who have authority over her, in order to gain favor.
Most of the times we use the gut feel to make decisions on how situations or other people impact us. Later on we would go into the in-depth thinking and justifying our decision. These responses can be emotional, habitual. There is an I’m not good enough thinking coming with this response.
This digital art symbolizes the yes- woman who might not be seen as a negative character but just looking for a different outcome.
We are trying to seek yes-people, ready for challenges and obstacles and learn from them. When you surround yourself with these kind of people who think positive and can make things happen, hells others and take on new challenges you will see life and your opportunities in a similar way.
INTERNATIONAL ARTIST
They say creativity is often a part of mental illness. The craziest ones make history.
You need a logical mind to identify the right marketing strategies and to be able to show your work for the public.
But when you want to create you need to allow your crazy to come out.
This digital art symbolizes the idea of the artist who likes to herself/ himself in different states of consciousness, and new experiences and surroundings, to challenge my idea of who they are.
OF COURSE, HONEY
The artist lady in her gallery is HAVING HER Own exhibition but also meeting new audience. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort and again LISTENING if we want to make those connections. That’s why a lot of relationships are fake and feel like a pink bubble could explode before even they are beneficial for either parties in the art business.
So we will learn to understand who you listen to asks his to take others opinions/ gossip/ advice. Too much advice at the wrong time can be extremely damaging, we need to find the right balance.
Secondly we will learn when to take feedback and when to hold our nerve.
MADONNA
Madonna lives in this surrealistic world looking down to the modern artists. She is not agreeing with the toxic competition she sees today because she believes in group work and always finds a way of creating harmony among diverse opinions.
She bounces back from setbacks and can overcome any adversities or obstacles thrown in her way as is she can’t understand young artists who give up easily. She symbolizes the icon who is not being understanding when seeing artists who are not adaptable or ambitious.
NOPE-MAN
This man symbolizes the person saying no in a dismissive version.
Nope creates a full stop by adding ‘p’ to the ‘no’ so it becomes a slightly rudest version of it.
The person who wants to say yes but saying nope more wants to displease you and disapprove you. It can create a feeling of rejection, fears and abandonment.
People who receive rejection from especially their loved ones they experience social anxiety and panic attacks.
With this digital art I am symbolizing two things. We don’t have to say Yes and become a yes-man all the time but being a Nope-Man just creates social anxiety in others close to you so we need to find a balance when to say no and when to say yes and showing affection in the right way.
